I could not remember the name. But surely, I thought, it would be easy to find. According to a British friend, he was the most famous 19th century British abolitionist. I searched: British abolitionist white British abolitionist white man British abolitionist
Thank you for the link. The date: 2006. This is already "woke" time, when whites on the sides of freedom and human rights were generally not given much attention. Fabulous that he is, even now, quite well known. A question: do you know, or could you find out, if his contribution to abolition is still being taught now? I have also now located an earlier short film, 1992 (35 min), William Wilberforce: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7zv_eToCELs Gateway Films/Vision Video on association with Christian History Institute.
I am sending out more about William Wilberforce tomorrow, including links to 2 videos (one from you and a second person - Amazing Grace - and one which I found). I will add the link to this. Do you want to be credited, as in, A reader, May, has sent me a link to the oldest human rights charity in the UK, founded in 1839: https://www.antislavery.org/
I remember receiving your newsletter years ago when Tommy Robinson started his campaign. I also support Rebel News, not that I always agree with their tactics but because they tell the truth more than the MSM who are also happy to ignore the fact that Christians are being regularly slaughtered by Muslims.
A galiot or small galley used by Muslim Barbary pirates, was comprised of 16 oars. Male slaves both white and black were chained to these oars, 24 hours a day till they died. Then another slave was chained on. Non Muslim slaves were so plentiful then, that an owner would sometimes trade one for an onion. The writer of Don Quixote was held as a slave for 5 years then was bought back by his family. In this era of outrage and guilt over US held slaves, I notice that there’s zero outrage or guilt in the Muslim world over this. Hmmm!
I have noticed exactly the same thing. That's why I brought this into my piece on C.R.T. I think you would enjoy it - my approach. I know you have the information.
Those interested in Muslim slavery (c. 1500-1800) should research the Barbary slave trade out of N Africa..Tunisia, Morocco etc. Ships captured white people along the entire north coast of the Mediterranean, as far north as Britain, Ireland and Iceland, often capturing entire villages. That was the reason Columbus was looking for another route to India…the Mediterranean was too dangerous.
In their song. ‘Rule Britannia’ they say, ‘Britons never never shall be slaves’. They’re referring to being taken captive by Ottoman Muslims.
The word slave comes from Slav, part of east Europe where millions of white women were captured and sold to Ottoman (Muslim) sultans for their harems. Muslim women were never part of a harem. The most popular and expensive were Circassian women, especially blonde or red haired, fetching 500 British pounds each. Circassia no longer exists but was in Western Russia.
Douglas Murray’s latest book, Death of the West states there were many millions of black men taken from Africa to Muslim -Arab countries, all were castrated, to be used as slaves in every part of the economy. Today there are no black people in the Middle East; however, the name for a black person in Arabic is ‘slave’.
Yes, a horror. And of course: no black people in the Middle East - if all the males were castrated. What about female black slaves? I do not have information.
I mention the horror of the Muslim African slave trade in the second half of my video on CRT:

When I searched for abolitionist, I did come to abolitionists - like Frederick Douglas and Harriet Tubman. In other words, it was recognized that the search was for abolitionists of slavery. Interesting that "slavery abolitionist" did bring you to Wilberforce. I have no idea why that term was more effective. After all, Douglas and Tubman were working for the same abolition cause as Wilberforce. In general, the searches are supposed to good at bringing us to what we are searching for. Anyway, great that there are terms that bring up Wilberforce.
A pleasure. Glad you like it. Amazing when, in this so-called information age, it takes word-of-mouth from someone over 80, to keep a bit of important knowledge alive.
I agree. And then, I will be posting the link to an amazing interview, from 1982 or so, on current "philanthropists." Tax evasion? Something way way worse.
He is quite well known in the UK and they even made a film about him, Amazing grace. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0454776/

Have a look at https://www.antislavery.org/, the oldest human rights charity in the UK, founded in 1839.

I have a friend who named his Yorkshire Terrier "Wilberforce". Amazingly he taught music at U of W in Seattle.
I'm guessing he didn't name his terrier Wilberforce by accident. Or is this one of those strange coincidences?
John is a smart guy. I'm sure he knew who William Wilberforce was.

We agree on many things. I think you may like my next project. You'll hear about it in a few days.

According to Douglas Murray, if a black slave had a child, ‘it’s head was bashed in’.
I have no words. And I cannot "like" the information - though it is vital information.

Thank you for all the information. This is clearly something you have researched well!!

So much horror - hidden because it does not fit the narrative - part of which is "Islam is a religion of peace."

Thanks. Will look at this.
You searched incorrectly, using ‘abolitionist’ instead of ‘slavery abolitionist’. Google ‘slave abolitionist’ and Wilberforce’s name comes up.

I Googled it a couple of more times and to different answers…brought me to Douglas etc.
Great article! Thank you

That was when the term philanthropist meant what it said, before tax evasion. Interesting subject Elsa, thank you.
