I knew why I was for Sound of Freedom before I went to see it.
I heard all kinds of criticism, especially that it doesn’t take on the Deep State but just sleazy slimy dirtbag lowlife criminals. I even heard that Tim Ballard, whose experiences form the basis for the movie, is a fraud.
So why did I know I was for the movie?
It brings so many people alive to their feelings - their feelings of outrage against child trafficking, their feelings of care for the children, their grief, their pain, their desire for justice, their desire to protect children.
I knew this from all I had heard of people’s reactions.
So I went and watched. Yes, the film touches us, has all the elements.
There are heroes - one main hero and also other heroes. There are villains. There are the children - most of all 2 children who love each other. And there is the loving father, powerless to get his children back. And that so touches the hero, that he takes on the mission. There is suspense. There is heroism.
As for the criticism that the movie doesn’t take on the Deep State, or in some other way doesn’t do enough, I say: it’s one movie. There should be dozens. Millions of children are trafficked. There are millions of stories.
I don’t say: the movie doesn’t take on the Deep State. I say: time for dozens more powerful stories, stories that grip us, touch us, motivate us.
Emotional aliveness. It’s so vital.
Most people are so numbed down.
So many people are closed to facts and reason. And even those not closed are often emotionally numbed.
Sound of Freedom reaches people. It touches. It brings alive.
I’m all for that.

Why not go after the traffickers in the US? Start with the pedo's in Hollywood...
Here we could not have children (it was not meant to be) but as a result of following natural moral law principles, ie: #1–first: do no harm, we always knew on an intuitive level how to role model others’ children and youths. For instance…When our gorgeous teen niece lived with us following her families’ recovery from a horrific emergency, being from up North, we took her all throughout our state of Florida, on mini vacations. While sharing the same room, we wore our neck-to-our feet jogging uniforms, her bed was positioned far and away from ours. To me, this choice behavior is a no brainer. Here’s an example of a truly savvy mother, it takes nothing to be willing to do this: because I created a meditation center in our higher quality neighborhood, the instructor yogi’s there and hubby and I (mere hosts) were aware there were some unfortunate homeless tent cities some distance away, where some were always welcomed at our (library location) center. However, there were also rumors of possible child molesters among the homeless. Leaving a nearby grocery story bathroom one evening, I congratulated the mother, explaining her young son did not owe me an apology for using the ladies room with me in there. Rather, and looking at his sister waiting outside of it as well, I agreed the mother was doing the right thing protecting her children from any possible “dangerous adults.” Incidentally, Elsa, my grandfather was a Chicago policeman, my parents’ jail chaplains and my sister worked for her states’ parole commission. Needless to say, for a novice, I’m rather well versed on the topic of the “criminal Justice system…” Which is WHY we need more realistic cautious optimists like yourself to step up to the plate, educate those willing to be educated. Then putting said education into practice, likewise, in our own signature way..,
