I never put Restless online. But it’s stayed in my mind. And I’ve gone back to it quite a number of times. I have the sense that I recorded it, but didn’t feel right with the sound of my voice.
Now it’s online. As of. today.
The feeling. Very true in 1994. Also true, from time to time anyway, now.
I feel like a snake
getting ready
to shed an old skin
The old skin's not quite ready to crack
The new one's too thinRestless Restless The snake feels restless
Nothing feels right Skin too tight
Restless Ready to strike
Needing to shed the old skinI feel like a tiger
pacing
in a cage
A Siberian tiger
Prowling round a small compound
All that power just prowling aroundRestless Restless The tiger feels restless
Feeling every muscle ready to pounce
But nothing to pounce on so just prowling aroundRestless Needing space to more than pace
Even needing space to more than pounce
Needing to roam around
RestlessElsa

My thoughts. I agree with the personal development stuff that holds that much comes from ourselves - that we hold ourselves back, don’t see opportunities, mess things up, and so on. I also strongly hold that the world I’m living in makes it very hard for many of us to live lives that suit us. It just makes sense to be restless.

I also think of inner drives. It’s been my sense, for a while, that it’s about time to get back to creative stuff. No one will take care of my poems, if I don’t. And now, the third piece in a row. All 3 are pieces that have stayed in mind.
In fact, many have.
My sense: very much time to give them attention.
And of course, I’m inviting you along.
My sense is that creative stuff - poetry. songs, musicals, novels, paintings - they bring us more alive.
The total opposite of the deadening influence of the Predators.

In light of the very moving conversation taking place here, and on other websites, I am sharing this new article by Joe Martino on The Pulse....(https://www.thepulse.one/p/this-mental-health-ad-got-over-50). They have some fantastic articles and great writers. It has been a very stressful four years for all of us, but some are greatly challenged. Blessings to every one here!
Elsa, I resonate with the feelings
