Yesterday, into my inbox came a new translation from Sissi. She thought I might want to post it. I just did. She couldn’t do it alone - on her own she couldn’t reach nearly as many people as I could.
On my side, I started these updates about Reiner by listening to Roger Bittel of bittel tv, for his weekly information. Soon people were sending me links. “Have you seen this?” “Look at this clip.” “Could you translate this into English?”
I couldn’t be doing this alone.
I also need you, the readers. What good would it do, sending to no one?
And so many of us are making our different efforts, from writing letters, to sending energy, to talking with people about Reiner, and on. We’re saying, “I can do that.” Also, “I want to be doing what I can.”
And that brings me to the poem I’m rehearsing with a couple of online friends:
Who will help me with my spark?
Whom can I help make their mark?
Who will help me build this ark?
Whom can I help get through their dark?
I cannot do it alone
The last line of the poem:
We cannot do it alone
No, I can’t. We can’t. We need each other.
I wrote the poem in 1997. I was not entirely alone - but I was ever so much more alone.
I’m very grateful for this online community.
